Rotary Interact Club

What is Rotary?
Rotary is a non-political, non-religious service network of more than 1.4 million people who volunteer their time and resources to improve the world through humanitarian service.

What is Interact?
Interact is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young people ages 12-18. Interact clubs perform at least two projects a year, with one that helps Gateway College Prep and our local community and the other promoting international understanding. Interact Club is self-supporting and self-governing, thus encouraging the development of leadership skills.  Today, more than 342,000 young adults belong to one of the 14,900 clubs located in 145 different countries.

What are service projects?
Service projects are events usually outside of school, that help the community.  Examples include the food bank, the animal shelter, park clean-up and senior centers.  These are great opportunities to earn service hours.

What is the time commitment?
Meetings are every two weeks with a weekend event every other month. Meetings last 45 minutes and service events are usually one to two hours.

The club is supervised by The Rotary Club of Georgetown. Meetings and service events are lead by students.  Sponsor: Ms. Krystal Grimm (krystal.grimm@orendaeducation.org)
