Gator Softball Suffers Season-Ending Loss in "Play-In" Game

Gator batter hits.

From Coach Paul McCoy: "Our Gator softball season came to an end last night in a tough loss to Jarrell. This has been a long hard fought year with a lot of firsts. The girls finished with an overall record of 16-10, 6-7 in district.

This represents the most games we have played in a single season leading to our first winning season, most district wins, first post-season game, highest batting average finishing at .403 as a team and scoring over 250 runs.

All in all, this was an awesome season and another big step in the right direction for the program. The girls are a tough tight-knit group who are not satisfied with how this year ended even with all the accolades.

The fight will continue and there is no reason we shouldn't come out even better next year with a good core group of girls returning and others eager to get their shot. Our confidence has definitely grown this year and those of you who know me know I will stay focused, as coach (Rory) Tyson and I continue moving the girls and this program forward."
