As a public charter school, Gateway College Prep depends on our generous supporters to help make up the gap in funding we experience in comparison to independent school districts - around $2,000 per student each year. We invite both our school families and local community members to be a part of Giving at Gateway. Please read below for more information on our needs and how we meet them through tax-deductible, charitable giving.
The Need
Unlike traditional public independent school districts (ISDs), public charter schools like Gateway Prep do not receive any local tax revenue, have no taxing authority, and receive no state aid to cover the cost of buildings and facilities, as well as other "extras" outside the classroom experience.
The Solution
Our charitable fundraising efforts help to bridge this funding gap and provide the financial resources to offer the quality Gateway Prep educational experience.
Your tax-deductible contributions make the Gateway experience possible, including:
- Smaller learning community with outstanding classroom educators
- Excellent, green-built learning, athletic, performance, and gathering facilities
- University Interscholastic League (UIL) athletics, fine arts, and academic competition
We invite families to join in charitable contributions through our annual Gator Club Fund. The Gator Club Fund provides a stable source of funding year to year that addresses ongoing needs. There are a number of giving levels, but families at Gateway College Prep are asked to consider a minimum annual gift of $600 per student attending, payable monthly, or in a single payment. The details and benefits of Gator Annual Fund giving can be found by clicking here.
