Kelly Bruneman

Playing/Coaching Background: Coach Bruneman is in her fifth year coaching at Gateway College Prep. A standout cross country and track athlete at Pflugerville, she was a collegiate runner at Texas A&M University while earning her Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. Prior to her joining Gateway, Coach Bruneman coached/taught at Leander ISD for eight years. In her free time, Coach Bruneman enjoys the outdoors, running and spending time with her family.

Darren Countiss

Coach Countiss was a multi-sport athlete at Temple High School (basketball, football, track, power lifting). Countiss attended Southwestern University where he played college football.

Clifton Cryer

Playing/Coaching Background:
Coach Cryer, the 2023 High School Teacher of the Year, enters his fourth year at Gateway College Prep. Prior to joining the Gators, Cryer coached at St. Dominic Savio High School and THZ Baseball Academy. A native of Round Rock, he graduated from Stony Point High School where he was a stand out pitcher. Cryer continued his baseball career for three years following high school at Incarnate Word University. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Concordia University.

Connor Docherty

Player/Coaching Background:
Connor Docherty begins his third season as an assistant coach with the Gateway Gators. He has more than 10 years of coaching experience with schools in the Houston and Austin areas. A decorated high school basketball player from Marble Falls, Coach “Doc” still holds the school record for most three-pointers in a game, season and most career three-pointers.
Coach Doc earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Texas State University and a Master’s degree in Sports Administration from Concordia University. He has a passion for developing student-athletes into great citizens, scholars and athletes.

Mark Eno

Playing/Coaching Experience: Following a stellar high school athletic tenure including multiple All-District honors in football, baseball and track & field (current high hurdle record holder) for the Belton Tigers, he earned his bachelor’s degree in History and Physical Education from East Texas State University in Commerce (now known as Texas A&M University – Commerce).
Awards: Mark has taught at several Central Texas schools, including Bruceville-Eddy High School, Moody High School, Troy Middle and High School, Lamar Middle School (Temple) and Temple High School. His positive academic record resulted in his being named five times to Who’s Who Among America’s High School Teachers. He was also nominated for the Temple Daily Telegram’s “Golden Apple Award,” a prestigious award that honors educators nominated by students, former students or parents of students.

Tyson Eno

Player/Coaching Background:
For Coach Eno, it all started in Belton, Texas where he participated in football, track and powerlifting at Belton High School. After graduation, he spent many years as a volunteer coach, both in baseball and track and field. Coach Eno holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M University – Central Texas and 2024-25 marks his sixth year with the Gateway Gators. When he has free time, Coach Eno enjoys grilling, fishing and spending time with his extended family, all of whom live in the area.

Gary Franke

Gary Franke served as Head Baseball Coach at Gateway College Prep for four seasons. He begins his 12th year of coaching and his 5th year at GCP and has led the Gators to two playoff appearances and 44 wins over that span. Prior to coming to GCP, Franke served as Vice President of Ticket Sales for the Round Rock Express for 18 years and Assistant Director of Season Ticket Sales for Texas Rangers Baseball for 10 years.
Coach Franke previously coached at Chadwick High School (IL) and Western Illinois University. Franke graduated from Beaver Dam High School where he was a three-year letterman in baseball and a two-year letterman in two additional sports. Coach Franke received his B.S. Degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and a M.S. Degree from Western Illinois University. While at UWL, Coach Franke played on the baseball team for three years.
When not working, he enjoys golfing, traveling to the beach and spending time with his wife, Bobbi, and their 5 grandchildren.

Ashley Goodlander

Ashley Goodlander brings over a decade of high-level coaching experience to Gateway College Preparatory School, where she is entering her second year as Head Volleyball Coach. With 11 years of coaching national-level select volleyball teams, Coach Goodlander has consistently led her teams to success, earning multiple Top 25 finishes at national qualifiers.
Since joining Gateway, she has already made a strong impact, guiding the team to Bi-District, Area, and Regional Semi-Final Championships. A former collegiate athlete herself, Coach Goodlander played volleyball at Ranger College after a standout high school career, giving her a deep understanding of the game both as a player and a coach.
Her coaching philosophy goes beyond the court. Ashley is passionate about developing the whole person—integrating personal growth, academic excellence, and life skills into her coaching approach. She believes that the lessons learned through volleyball extend far beyond the game, helping young athletes grow into confident, capable individuals.
At Gateway, she is building a culture of excellence, integrity, and purpose—where players are not only trained as athletes but are also empowered as people.

Qunicy Granderson

Player/Coaching Background:
Known as “Coach Q”, Granderson has taught/coached at Orenda Charter Schools for 15 years. A native of Temple, he was a star football player earning All-District and All-Area honors as an offensive lineman for the Wildcats before playing football at McMurray University in Abilene. A life-long educator, Granderson has coached basketball, football and track & field.

Player/Coaching Background:
Coach Jenkins has been a part of the Gateway community for 10 years. She has volunteered on the PTO for six years and is in her fourth year as a Gator teacher. Once a high school athlete, Coach Jenkins is in her third year as an assistant middle school volleyball and track coach.

Tanner Martinez

Coach Tanner Martinez was named Head Baseball Coach of Gateway College Prep in May 2025. Prior to that, Coach Martinez has spent the past 3 seasons with the Gateway Baseball Program as an Assistant Coach, and spent 2 Years at University of the Southwest as an Assistant Coach from 2020-2022. While at Southwest, Coach Martinez was part of a Coaching Staff that saw the Mustangs make two Red River Athletic Conference tournament appearances in back to back years. Taking down #1 LSU-Shreveport in the opening round both years.
Coach Martinez graduated from St. Dominic Savio CHS in Austin, Tx, where he was a four-year letter winner in Baseball, and 3-year All-District selection. Martinez then attended East Texas Baptist University as a Pitcher, before transferring to play at Southwestern Christian University in Bethany, Oklahoma. He graduated from SCU with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology, and received an M.S. in Health and Human Performance from University of the Southwest.
In his spare time, Coach Martinez enjoys golfing, grilling, and spending time with his dogs… especially Gunner.

Paul McCoy

Coach Paul McCoy has been the Head softball Coach of gateway college prep since he started the program the 2012/2013 school year. He begins his 15th year of coaching at Gateway and his 14th with the softball program. He has worked to build a program focused on good work ethic and consistency, which has helped lead the Gators to the playoffs the past 4 years.
Throughout his time at Gateway he has also been the head volleyball and swim coach in addition to assisting with other sport and leadership programs on campus.
Coach Mccoy also helped start our Middle school softball program that was launched in 2021. He does a great job cultivating an environment to support growth and development for these athletes and continues to be a strong, consistent leader for the program and around the school.
Coach McCoy graduated from Killeen Ellison HS where he was a four-year letter winner in baseball and also lettered in 2 additional sports.
Coach McCoy received his B.S. degree in Sociology from St. Edwards University, where he finished his college baseball career in 2011. He started his career at Kansas State University out of high school. McCoy then transferred to Mclennan community college before landing at St. Edwards.
When not working, he enjoys golfing, traveling, and spending time outside with his two girls, Carter (6), Cameron (4), and his wife, Miranda.

Mike Miller

Playing/Coaching Background: Played Fall baseball at College of Lake County in Illinois; amateur Midwest Baseball league; pitcher for Chicago Mud Sharks and two-time All-Star with the Mud Sharks and 2001 Cy Young Award winner. Lettered in high school and named All-Conference in baseball.
Coach Miller has been coaching since 2004. The athletic teams he has coached include soccer (5 years), track (2 years), boys’ volleyball (2 years), strength/conditioning (4 years), baseball (11 years) and basketball (8 + years) with the majority of those coaching assignments in Illinois before joining Gateway Prep in 2012.

Jacob Penney

Coach Penney began his lacrosse journey in 2009 as a founding member of Georgetown High School’s lacrosse team. By his senior year in 2011, he had earned All-State honors, paving the way to play at the collegiate level for Texas A&M, where he developed into an All-Conference faceoff specialist (FOGO) in 2016. While still a player, he began sharing his expertise, coaching faceoffs at Georgetown High School from 2011–2016.
His coaching career expanded as he served as an assistant coach at Cedar Park High School from 2016–2018 and later took on the role of team manager for the Dallas Rattlers of Major League Lacrosse (2018–2019). From 2019–2022, he led Vista Ridge High School as head coach, before becoming the defensive coordinator for Gateway Lacrosse (2022–2025). Across his coaching career, he has guided teams to three district championships and multiple deep playoff runs, including State Final Eight appearances in 2017 (Division I), 2022 (Class C), 2023 (Class C), and 2025 (Class B), as well as Final Four finishes in 2021 (Class C) and 2024 (Class C).
Beyond high school programs, Coach Penney has been a dedicated summer club coach, working with elite organizations including Blue Dogs, UNRL, Marquee, Trilogy, and Storm—continuing to develop the next generation of lacrosse players at every level of the game.

Emerald Rosenbusch

Coach Rosenbusch is in her second year teaching and coaching at Gateway. Her journey with volleyball began back in 5th grade, sparking a passion that has only grown stronger over the years. She was 1st Team All-District as both a junior and senior, and earned All-Tournament recognition my senior year. Her playing career continued with two seasons at North Central Texas College, followed by a stint at Salem University, where she received the Archie Tally Motivational Award during her junior year.
Academically, Coach Rosenbusch holds a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s in Business Administration from Salem University. After a decade of coaching club volleyball, she decided to pursue her teaching certificate to combine a passion for coaching with education. Jason Schram

Coach Schram enters his 12th season in charge of the Gator soccer program and his 25th overall season. He has led the team to nine playoff appearances in 11 years, including eight consecutive appearances from 2018-2024. The team won the Bi-District title in 2018 with their first ever playoff win. The Gators finished second in their respective district for three consecutive years from 2018-2020, as well as 2024 and 2025, and earned their first District Championship in the 2020-2021 season. The team then earned its second straight District Championship in the 2021-2022 season.
Coach Schram was a four-year letterman in soccer at Holt High School in his hometown of Holt, Michigan earning All-Conference honors as a senior. He was also a two-year letterman in basketball.

Gabriel Wheeler

Coach Wheeler is in his fourth year at Gateway and seventh year as a head swim coach. He believes swimmers should want to attend practice, not have to, fostering passion and confidence through challenging training. While not every swimmer needs to plan on college swimming, he aims to create the opportunity for every one of his athletes.
Under his leadership the last 3 years, Gateway’s women’s team has won three district titles, and the men’s team two. Both teams have been top 5 in Region all 3 years. The women placed Top 5 twice and the men once at the state meet. He has been named District coach of the meet all three years, as well as Regional Dive coach of the meet all 3 years. This past year Gateway recently celebrated its first-ever individual swim state champion as well as its 3rd dive State champion. The men's team also captured the 2023 UIL 4A TISCA Invitational championship.
Originally from Round Rock, Coach Wheeler swam for RRHS and then at Division I Seattle University, where he earned a B.S. in Environmental Science. He also head coaches the Fast Frogs summer league team who have remained undefeated the last 2 seasons. Outside the pool, he enjoys paddleboarding, hiking, exploring Austin’s food scene, and spending time with his dog, Louie.

Georgia Larsen

Georgia Larsen is entering her second year as the assistant volleyball and soccer coad at Gateway. She has been coaching club volleyball for the past nine years, serving in both head and assistant coaching roles across various age levels.
Georgia earned an undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science from Concordia University Texas, where she was a four-year starter on the women’s volleyball team. At Concordia, she broke four school records, was honored as Female Athlete of the Year, and was named Setter of the Year for the American Southwest Conference.
After graduating, Georgia stayed on at Concordia as a Graduate Assistant Coach for the women’s volleyball program while completing her Master’s in Public Health. Those two years gave her valuable experience in team leadership, player development, and fostering a positive, competitive culture.
When not coaching, she loves spending time outdoors with her husband and two dogs. Whether it's working out , relaxing at the lake, or just enjoying our family ranch, Georgia find balance and joy in nature and family time.

Eric Stelzel

Playing/Coaching Background: Eric Stelzel began his coaching career at Gateway as the 7/8th grade Lacrosse Head Coach in 2020. Quickly after that he began coaching more youth teams and shadowing the High School Program. In 2022, he started teaching social studies at Gateway and served as assistant coach for HS Lacrosse and head coach of Middle School Basketball. He has more than 10 years of coaching experience with youth programs in basketball, baseball, soccer, lacrosse and hockey. He was a high school athlete in Track, Cross Country, Basketball and Baseball. Played Club Hockey for Texas AM-Commerce.

Beverly Warren

Coach Beverly Warren joined Gateway in 2023. She is the head 7th grade volleyball coach and is head coach for middle school track and field.
Coach Warren graduated from Minnetonka High School in Minnesota. She was a four-year letter winner in Track and Field and three-year letter winner in cross country. She led her cross country team to two State Championships her junior and senior year; personally finishing 7th and 5th respectively. She ran the 1600 meters at the state meet both her junior and senior year. Her senior year, her team won the State Championship and she placed 6th.
Coach Warren received her Bachelor degree at North Dakota State University. While at NDSU she ran both cross country and track. Each of the four years that Warren ran cross country at NDSU her team placed in the top 10 at the NCAA Division II National meet and Warren earned three All-American honors, with 5th place being her highest finish. Warren competed at three NCAA Division II National Track and Field meets in the 3,000 meters. In her final year she was a triple crown champion at the NCC meet, winning the 3,000m, 5,000m and the 10,000m. She was inducted into the NDSU Hall of Fame in 2006.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, hiking, traveling and gardening.
