Last Friday evening our Gator Swim & Dive team kicked off the season with an intercity matchup against Eastview and Georgetown battling for the Georgetown Crown. This is a rebuilding year for the team as we lost 11 seniors - 7 of them being State qualifiers last year. This meet we were looking for growth and we sure saw it!... Last year at this exact same meet we saw 20% best times and this year the team put up 72% best times.

The girls team showed their strength by sweeping all 3 relays led by Savina Smith, Clara Matula, Peyton Norman, and Antje Weber. Depth helped seal the deal with freshman Sydnee Hull, Avery Hardnin, and Junior Emily Camp stepping up in their first ever HS meet. Overall the ladies won 8/11 events.

On the men's side we need some of these guys to really step up this year and they're on the right track. Every single race was a personal best time from last year except for 1 (11/12). While Georgetown has been a 5A powerhouse for years we still put up a fight in some events led by our Captains Wyatt Dragoo, Alan Soto and senior Tyler Pruitt. Wyatt won our only event in the 200 free.
