• Dear Gateway Families:

Welcome back to all our returning students, and welcome aboard to all our new students. We know you have a choice in education, and we are honored that you have chosen to become a member of the Gateway Prep family. Every year, at the start of the school year, the State requires all schools to gather updated information on each and every student. As a charter school, we are no different. There are two parts to the annual forms: online and paper.

Step 1 Online: You will update your information online and complete several online forms through the Registration Tab in the TEAMS Parent Portal. To do this, please go
to https://orenda.tx01.teams360.net/selfserve/EntryPointHomeAction.do?parent=true. You can also access this link directly on the Gateway College Preparatory website, www.gatewaycps.org, by going to the Parents tab and click on Parent Portal Logins. You will see a link to TEAMS Enrollment/Student Information. You need to use Google Chrome as the internet browser to be able to successfully update your information and complete all the forms. Returning users will use their existing TEAMS username and password.

Step 2 Paper: We were hoping all forms could be online but to meet certain requirements, some forms need to be in paper form. The required paper forms are attached to this letter and listed below.

    • Acceptable Use Agreement Acknowledgement
    • Acknowledgement and Approval of Parent-Student Handbook and Code of Conduct
    • Electronic Communication Device Commitment Form
    • Form for Compensatory Education Funding QualificationPl

Please complete and return all the above paper forms for EACH student enrolled at Gateway College Prep.

All students new to Gateway for 2019-20 have already completed all necessary forms and do not need to complete these forms again.

All forms are due before the first day of school. Forms can be turned in at Back to School Nights or to the front office.

Again, thank you for choosing Gateway for your child’s education. I am looking forward to a fantastic
    school year.

Gateway K-4 Elementary Classes Become Published Authors for the 8th Year

Hard work yields great results. Each year when the class book packets are handed out, there’s a bit of anxiety that ensues. However, the remark, “But the end product is so worth it!” is also heard many times. Students, and teachers alike, are so excited when their books arrive and are anxious to see what others have done and share their published work.  Pictured with their class books are 4th grader Zoe Moon and 3rd grader Andrew Fleischmann along  with coordinator of the project, Mrs. Minzenmayer.

  • Funds for New Led Vision Board for New Gym Needed

Collage of photos of students in classroom settings

FUNDRAISING ALERT.....Orenda Education is attempting to raise monies to fund an LED video display board to be mounted in the new Main Gymnasium on the Gateway College Prep campus. Donations totaling $50,000 are required to purchase the 6.6 foot-tall by 11.48 foot-wide pixilated board and control system.

The LED board would enhance a K-12 school community experience by promoting all the activities that occur in the gym... from athletic events to pep rallies to fine arts performances to graduation exercises.

“We feel this is a great opportunity to showcase our students and our school environment to all who will view content on this state-of-the-art media tool, including students, families and visitors to the campus” said Tommy Turner, Director of Community Relations.

Turner said much of the content for the display board also would be created by students studying video production and broadcasting courses now offered at the secondary school level. The video board will need to be staffed during events and student volunteers would help in those roles.

Eventually, advertising space could be sold with revenue helping to underwrite a portion of the cost of the board. Multi-year contracts could be sold to larger advertisers or local businesses with smaller budgets could purchase digital announcements during a single athletic event, for example, Turner said.

Persons interested in making pledges or donations to this project should contact Mr. Turner at tommy.turner@orendaeducation.org or call 512-869-3020.
